Living in Shavano Park
Shavano Park started as an 1800s stagecoach stop called 'Shavano' on the road between San Antonio and Boerne. The land later became part of the Stowers Ranch, was bought by Wallace Rogers and Sons in 1947, and incorporated as its own city in 1956. It is now completely surrounded by San Antonio.
What sets it apart is land. City rules require large lots in much of Shavano Park, so you get acre-plus homesites a few minutes from the Medical Center and The Rim. The city's slogan sums it up: 'City Living with Country Charm.'
