Living in Fair Oaks Ranch

Fair Oaks Ranch is named for oilman Ralph Fair Sr., who assembled the ranch in the 1930s, first for racehorses, then a registered Hereford herd. Residential development began in 1975, the Fairs' 14,000-square-foot river-rock home became the country club in 1978, and the city incorporated in 1988 across three counties.

Today it's a Hill Country city of larger lots and mature oaks between Boerne and San Antonio, where county line, district and lot details vary more than most buyers expect.

Fair Oaks Ranch crosses three counties, and buyers will ask which one you're in. I have taxes, district and lot details ready before the first showing.— Stefanie Parra
